Raro and Penny

Penny has been staying with us for a few days after Christmas, she’s just headed north to Kerikeri. She’s been great company for both us and Raro, who seems a bit lonely since Vulcan died. They follow each other around, Raro is far more engaged when Penny is around.

Penny is absolutely delightful and is very, very smart – she learns routines extremely quickly.

This is Syrus, he’s staying here for a couple of weeks while his human, Daniel, is visiting family. Cyrus is not a confident dog but likes being with our guys and is quite attached to Brooke, they follow each other everywhere.

5 Dogs on the Beach

We’ve had visitors for the past couple of days, which means that since we are fostering Brooke Davis with our two boys, we had 5 dogs in the house. All perfectly behaved and not a hint of any problems.

Achilles is almost like a twin to Vulcan, only quite a bit larger, and Zeva is very clingy and interactive.

Our guys didn’t mind the company, since they get the sofas and nobody else does, so they can lie around and watch the others changing beds all the time.

Vulcan and Raro have a new friend. This is Lil (Wee Lisa). She may be the tiniest greyhound we’ve seen, but she’s very active and full of energy.

She’s been adopted by Robyn and Cliff (who had Missy, Vulcan’s sister, who died last year). She’s a great fit and very smart.

This Joss’ dog Penny, she’s just spent the past few days here while Jos was away. Penny is gorgeous, very smart and is always trying to wind the boys up and get them to play. She fits right in and is immediately at home. Just takes her cues from the boys, so everyone is chilled and relaxed.

Raro’s brother Sonic

Raro and his litter brother Sonic. They are a great pair of dogs, very similar in many ways.

Both Raro and Vulcan were absolutely stoked when they realised they were going walking with other greyhounds, their behaviour with greyhounds is totally different to all other dogs.

2017 GGGW Mt Maunganui

At the 2017 Great Global Greyhound Walk at Mt Maunganui last Sunday. Great weather, and lots of interest from the public.

Vulcan met Achilles at the GGGW at Mt Maunganui.

Achilles is slightly larger than Vulcan, and the same beautiful blue brindle colour – though Vulcan has more white on his front and being older (he’s nearly 9 years old) has more white on his muzzle, too.

Both dogs have problems with corns, Vulcan has 2 sore feet at present.
